Attention young creatives!! The Big Class Youth Advisory Council presents a five-workshop series for high schoolers interested in filmmaking, photography, creative writing or radio production. Participating students will work within one media workshop track alongside diverse and talented mentors in the respective field. With guidance, each student will create a final portfolio piece—short film, hardbound book, radio story— to aid in the college application process or job search, while building a network of supportive professionals.
Mentors include Big Charity filmmaker Alex Glustrom, Dillard professor Laurence Ross, UNO artist-in-residence photographer Ariya Martin, and WWNO's education reporter Mallory Falk...to name a few.
All workshops are free of charge, and will culminate in a final symposium and celebration. Workshops take place at 3718 St. Claude from 10 am until 2 pm. Workshop dates are: Nov 14th, Dec 19th, Jan 30th, Mar 12 and Apr 30, students must commit to all dates.
