It's LIT

It's LIT is a youth-designed and built youth writing center and food truck. It offers a dynamic interface to make creative writing opportunities more accessible to New Orleans' young people year-round.

On It’s LIT youth can connect with writing in new ways: they can collaborate with chefs and write about food; they can write about water next to the river; they can trick or treat and write about zombies; they can attend art exhibits and write reviews; and so much more.

Visioned by students in Big Class’s Youth Advisory Council and designed and built by young people from the NET Charter High School and Arts Council of New Orleans Youth Solutions program, It’s LIT also creates paid opportunities for teens to work with Big Class.

It’s LIT is just getting rolling.
Currently, It’s LIT is popping up at occasional festivals and school community events when Big Class’s capacity allows.

Help Big Class get LIT.

We are working to grow our capacity to meet the demand for It's LIT programs.
