Last week council members attended the teen summit at the NOMA where they met with other teens from across the city to talk about what they find successful—or not— in city youth programming. They also got to romp in city park and enjoy the sunshine. Council member, Tyrell, won second place in the New Orleans Public Library monologue contest—he wrote and performed a monologue portraying WEB Dubois.

This week we celebrate traffic cone donation —thanks Gracie!— and members begin cone design for Pothole Poetry. This Saturday we have a resume-writing workshop for council members and friends.  The Jazz and Heritage foundation agreed to donate their Rampart venue for our council's culminating event in May. I am photographing young authors at Akili and at Sylvanie this week, and have a final meeting with the Arts Council and YAYA to firm up all details of council members facilitating a public poetry workshop on March 12th.
