Last week- Final day at Wheatley working with young ones and typing stories. YAC members at Sci chose the Pizza Poetry Laureates. Met with the programmer at the New Orleans East library, three more workshops are added onto the Big Class Summer teen programming. Met with arts council, we are in next phases of the snowball stand that I can brief everyone at the staff meeting. Super appreciative of Glynnis' time and energy at our PD workshop last week.
This week- Proofreading a ton of wolf stories. Prepping for the final YAC workshop with mentors this Saturday; they are in the final phases of their projects under the theme "Dear New Orleans." This is the last time they will meet with their mentors to create for their final culminating exhibit/party on May 28th. Still working out logistics for the literary luau, as well as helping Raven with Pizza Poetry Day tomorrow. This morning I led a miniature book-making workshop with 45 young ones from Arise. They made books about, mostly, animals they were studying in school. They also toured the miniature art exhibit upstairs. See below.
