Apply to Lead a Writing Class!

The Writers Room at Sylvanie Williams College Prep is an opportunity for students in grades 2-4 to engage with writing in traditional and non-traditional ways during the school day. This dedicated room for young writers uses creative writing to improve students’ communicative and expressive abilities. We inspire growth in writing through volunteer support and publishing.

We Need You!

The classes in the Writers Room are called Writing Clubs. These clubs are created and led by dedicated volunteers.  Big Class staff collaborates with volunteer club leaders to create lesson plans, prepare for class, and work with students.
In past clubs students have penned cookbooks, designed and written about secret gardens, explored Haikus, Origami, commercials, and more! Our volunteers have inspired the imaginations of young writers at Sylvanie WIlliams for 3 years.
